What to expect?

Pre and Postnatal Pilates is an exercise class designed by Charly of C.A.N. DO Family Fitness, using the principles of Contrology by Joseph Pilates. Pilates uses movements which strengthen the body by working the core and posterior chain and the mind by using focus and control. Pre and Postnatal Pilates will help to strengthen your body ready for childbirth and also repair and rebuild in the weeks and months afterwards.  Pilates is a great class for all mums regardless of prior exercise history. Combined with various social events throughout the year and post class coffee socials weekly, there really is something for every mum with C.A.N. DO Family Fitness.

When can I start?

Suitable during pregnancy and from 6 weeks postnatal or 8-12 weeks for a C- section birth once you have had your GP check up.  Please contact us for more information.

What to wear?

Loose, flexible clothing which will allow movement

Do I need to bring my own mat?

We will provide mats for all unless you would like to use your own.

What not to forget?

  • Drink for mummy and baby
  • Snack for baby / toddler
  • Toys / books for toddler
  • Completed health screening form: Health Screening Form

Preparation

Please feed your baby before coming to class so your baby isn’t hungry and so you can get an hour for YOU. If you’re breastfeeding, this also ensures you are more comfortable to exercise.

Are Pilates trainers qualified?

Yes.  I hold a Sports and Exercise (BSc Hons) Degree from Oxford Brookes, the Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing qualification, and Pre/Postnatal Pilates qualification.

Are Pilates trainers insured?

Yes.  I hold full Public Liability Insurance
